ABOUT MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL
Welcome to Memorial Middle School, home of the Wildcats!
We are a middle school of almost 400 students, grades 6-8, serving residents of the city of South Portland. We are a diverse, inclusive, and dynamic group of learners!
At Memorial, we follow the Wildcat Way by being safe, responsible, respectful and kind. Academically, we focus on helping students think creatively and critically about issues that are important to them. Through our proficiency-based approach to learning, students know what the goals of their classes are, how they personally are doing, and what they need to do to improve. In addition to the core classes of math, ELA, Social Studies and Science, students also take two Related Arts courses a day. Related Arts choices include Band, Chorus, General Music, Physical Education, Health, French, Spanish, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), JMG (Jobs for Maine Graduates) and Art. We provide significant instructional support services to more than 20% of our students. Outside of classes, students can participate in numerous athletic programs and clubs.
We are proud to boast of our involved, caring, respectful and kind students and teachers. Memorial is the place to be!
